Proud to have been invited to attend the Widnes Royal British Legion & Royal Artillery’s Schools’ Poppy Appeal Awards this morning. The event was for the Widnes Royal British Legion & Royal Artillery to say thank you to the Widnes school children/schools who helped to smash the Widnes Poppy Appeal record in 2018. It was lovely to see the children collecting their school’s certificate and gifts.
I was very surprised and a bit overwhelmed to be presented with beautiful flowers by the Widnes Royal British Legion & Royal Artillery as the last award.
Thank you to them for the flowers, their kind words about me and for using their Legion nickname for me – Arkwright (it’s the tuck shops). Proud to count them as friends, I love volunteering with the Widnes RBL & Royal Artillery.
