Widnes Growing Together

I set up the charity Widnes Growing Together a few months back, with the aim of turning derelict green space into a Community Garden & Allotments site with full disability access. We have a growing number of volunteers and have come a long way in a few months.

I put in a funding bid to the Tesco Bags of Help Scheme back in June and I’m happy to announce that WGT has been successfully shortlisted in the top three projects in our region, meaning a minimum of £8000 funding for the project. This will make a huge difference to how quickly we can do the things we want to achieve.

WGT along with the other two successful projects in our region will go forward to a public vote in Tesco stores with their customers deciding the outcome. The public will be able to vote as many times as they shop for their favourite project in local Tesco stores from 31st October 2016 to 13th November 2016. The project with the highest number of votes across the region will receive £12,000, the second placed project £10,000 and the third placed project £8,000.

Absolutely made up and hope you will nip down and vote for Widnes Growing Together from 31st October.
